When You've Got Nothing Left To Give

Have you ever felt like you were supposed to be doing something great, but found yourself flat on your back, wondering what happened? It's a feeling that can be frustrating and disheartening, and it's something that many of us have experienced in life. But what if there was a way to avoid being on our backs so much? Could we find the power we need to make the impact we were created to make?

In Acts chapter three, we read about Peter and John encountering a man who had never walked in his life, and was carried daily to the temple gate to ask for money from those who passed by. While Peter and John didn't have any money to give, they had something far more valuable: the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the name of Jesus Christ.

Peter spoke to the man, saying, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Then, he helped the man to his feet, and the man began to walk for the first time in his life. This was not something Peter did on his own - it was the power of the Holy Spirit working through him that brought about this miracle.

This story shows us the importance of relying on the Holy Spirit's power in our lives. Even when we don't have the resources we think we need, the Holy Spirit can give us everything we need to make a difference in someone's life. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, amazing things can happen, just as they did for Peter and John. It also makes it clear that we might not always have what people are asking for and we don't have to try to provide everything for everyone all the time. If we'll simply give what we DO have instead of trying to provide what we don't we'll find ourselves in a much more spiritually healthy and powerful place.

Furthermore, this miracle drew a crowd, and Peter was able to use the opportunity to speak about the true power behind the miracle - the Holy Spirit and the name of Jesus Christ. As we seek to make an impact in the world, we should always rely on the Holy Spirit's power and be ready to share the good news of Jesus Christ with those around us. The Holy Spirit is the source of our power and the key to making a lasting impact in the world.
